National Silk Expo to hold weavers’ exhibition in New Delhi

From February 28 to March 6, silk saree retailer National Silk Expo will hold a weavers’ exhibition in New Delhi at the Constitution Club of India to present a range of handloom textiles from across India.
The National Silk Expo ‘Silk and Cotton Fab of India’ business-to-customer showcase will launch in the capital on Friday and present sarees from regions including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Bengal, the company announced on Facebook. The shopping fair will focus on bridal sarees for the spring wedding season and summer weaves.
Featured weaves will include Lucknawi Chikan work, Kutch embroidery, Maheshwari work, Ikat, Patola silk, Gajji silk, Munga silk, Gathjoda work, Uppada sarees, and Kantha work among many other techniques. The exhibition aims to promote handloom crafts and give the capital’s shoppers a one-stop location for India’s diverse weaving traditions.
The National Silk Expo recently held saree exhibitions in Ahmedabad, Noida, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Gurgaon. The business displays only textiles with the ‘Silk Mark’ to show quality and aims to boost the textile industry across Indian states to help increase employment in the sector and preserve India’s heritage textile crafts.
