Namrata Joshipura mixes athleisure with futuristic glamour with 'Circle Back' digital showcase at LMIFW
Womenswear designer Namrata Joshipura presented her latest collection ‘Circle Back’ as a digital showcase on day one of Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week, mixing athleisure with dramatic glamour.
As the Fashion Design Council of India launched its first-ever digital fashion week on Wednesday, Namrata Joshipura presented a runway-show video, which was broadcast online. Circle Back was designed to be, “contextually versatile: paired separates that straddle both high drama and athleisure,” Joshipura announced on her eponymous brand’s Facebook page.
Ruffled blouses and skirts were contrasted with body-con dresses featuring sheer panels and glitter embellishments to create a futuristic and sporty aesthetic with a touch of youthful, girlish charm. The collection’s colour palette included black, silver, white, pale blue, and neon green and embellishments included sparkles and feather-like plumages, which added drama. Accessories included metallic silver shoes and neon green visors to add to the collection’s sci-fi feel.
The video format showcased the collection’s detailed embellishments through closeup shots and the models’ makeup looks were showcased at the start of the show with sponsor Lotus Makeup. Models wore slicked back hair and black, smokey eyes with nude lipstick.
Namrata Joshipura launched her label in August 2011. The brand retails from its dedicated e-commerce store, three flagship stores, and a number of multi-brand boutiques across India and internationally.
