Nachiket Barve presented his latest womenswear collection titled ‘Ephemera’ on the runway at Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India. The collection celebrated classic femininity with floral embroidered lehengas in rich tones.

Barve’s latest offering blended classic lehengas with gowns, tailored jackets, and even a blazer-style minidress with floaty flared sleeves, all brought to life with delicate floral embroidery. The collection featured textiles including velvet, chiffon, and gossamer silk and its colour palette included bright reds and magentas as well as silvery blue and ivory hues. Each embroidered surface in the collection, depicting thousands of tiny blossoms, was handmade over hundreds of hours, the FDCI announced on Facebook as it broadcast the runway show.

Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi closed the runway show and walked the ramp with Barve wearing a fuchsia lehenga covered in tactile blossoms and paired with a ruffled shawl for a high-octane feminine look. The collection was designed to promote handicraft textile and artisan techniques and translated them into versatile traditional and fusion style garments with an ageless charm.

Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with the FDCI ran in Mumbai from October 12 to 16 at the Jio World Convention Centre. Sponsored by Nexa, the fashion week mixed physical showcases with digital broadcasts and hosted a number of design contests to celebrate young design talent.
