Myntra witnesses 150 percent growth in personal care segment
Flipkart-owned fashion e-commerce platform Myntra has claimed to have witnessed strong sales in the beauty and personal care category during the ongoing festive season.
Myntra in a statement said that its beauty and personal care category witnessed a 150 percent growth year-on-year during this festive season.
Fragrances were the highest selling products on the platform driving growth in the category followed by makeup and gift sets.
During the festive season metro cities like Delhi/NCR, Bangalore and Mumbai recorded the highest sales followed by tier 2 cities like Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Guwahati, Imphal, Patna, Srinagar, Indore and Dehradun.
“Men comprised of 20 percent of the shoppers in the beauty and personal care space, of which 48 percent shopped for perfumes, followed by beauty appliances, skincare and men’s grooming products, whereas 21 percent of women spent on lipsticks with 100 lipsticks being sold on the platform every hour during the festive season,” Myntra said in a statement.
Myntra sees huge potential for growth in this segment and has been scaling up by expanding its portfolio to cater to a wider audience.
Currently, Myntra claims to have over 18,000 options from over 430 brands in this segment.
