Myntra to franchise brick-and-mortar beauty and cosmetics outlets
Aug 24, 2018
The e-commerce platform Myntra will soon enrol franchisees to open multi-brand brick-and-mortar beauty stores under the Myntra Beauty brand.
Myntra is currently searching for large retail spaces in malls and on highstreets in India’s metros to open multi-brand franchised beauty stores. ET Bureau reported, crediting sources familiar with the development, that the franchised Myntra Beauty stores will be around 3,000 to 4000 square feet large and will be modelled on LVMH’s beauty chain Sephora.
“Beauty and personal care is a fast growing segment for us which has been growing at 400% year-on-year,” said Flipkart-owned Myntra-Jabong’s Chief Executive, Ananth Narayanan.
“Today we have over 250 leading brands across make up, skin care, bath & body, perfumes and beauty appliances.”
The first franchised Myntra Beauty store is planned to open in Bengaluru, where Myntra-Jabong is based. The opening is scheduled for this year or early next year. Brands that will feature in the store will include L’Oreal, Nykaa, Sephora, Bobbi Brown, and Colorbar.
The chain of beauty stores will be the third brick and mortar chain opened by Myntra.
The business has already opened brick and mortar stores for its private label fashion brand Roadster and also operates franchise outlets for the Spanish fashion brand Mango.
