Flipkart-owned fashion platform Myntra has partnered with Purple Style Labs-owned luxury fashion retailer Pernia’s Pop Up Shop to enter the luxury segment.
With this partnership, Indian designer wear labels such as Ritu Kumar, Masaba Gupta, Namrata Joshipura, Gopi Vaid among many others will sell their collections on Myntra.
The etailer is betting big on the luxury segment and expects strong sales from this newly launched segment during its upcoming end of season sale event.
Commenting on the partnership, Ayyappan Rajagopal head of business at Myntra Jabong in a statement said, “Myntra’s association with ‘Pernia’s Pop-up Shop’ marks our foray into the luxury segment, which is beginning to emerge as a popular category online. We are witnessing a strong demand for premium products on our platform and this association strongly enhances our position as a leading destination for women’s ethnic wear. Myntra’s reach and popularity will now take designer labels to the door steps of discerning fashion shoppers across the nation.”
Abhishek Agarwal, CEO of Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop added, “Our association with Myntra will bring together a curation and distribution in the luxury space to make designer wear accessible to a wider shopper base and millenials.”
Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop’s e-commerce store houses over 500 Indian designers including Manish Arora, Gaurav Gupta, Tarun Tahiliani, Papa Don't Preach, House of Masaba, Rohit Bal, and Anamika Khanna, among others.
The business was fully acquired by Purple Style Labs from its founder Pernia Qureshi in July 2018.
