Myntra hires 5,000 people for EORS

Flipkart’s online fashion arm Myntra has hired an additional 5,000 employees for its ‘End of Reason Sale'.

“There are many firsts to this sale – one being that most of it is being run virtually and secondly, we hired the additional workforce a week in advance instead of a day prior to the sale like in pre-Covid years,” Myntra’s CEO Amar Nagaram told the Economic Times. 
 
As Myntra runs its EORS event from June 19 to 22, the business has brought in employees across its supply chain and in its customer care departments, ET Bureau reported. Myntra expects the sale to boost sales and bring in new shoppers, with customers in Tier 2 and 3 cities expected to contribute 40% of sales over the weekend.

The business was able to retain its workers during lockdown, as many other businesses saw their employees leave for the safety of their home towns, by providing them with necessities, according to Nagaram.
 
After the sale events concludes, Myntra has also introduced ‘recharge leave’ for its employees for the first time. Workers will be given two days holiday after the EORS wraps up to recuperate from the busy event.
