Myntra appoints Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma as brand ambassadors

The e-commerce fashion portal Myntra has appointed celebrities Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma as its first ever official brand ambassadors. The married couple star in the platform’s new 'Go Myntra-la-la' campaign.

"The association of Bollywood and sports with fashion needs no introduction and hence having Virat and Anushka as the face of this new campaign will enable us to build strong brand salience and establish the joy and convenience of shopping on Myntra," said Myntra-Jabong head Amar Nagaram in a statement, as reported by IANS. 

The couple star in a musical film commercial for Myntra that shows Kohli and Sharma shopping together and using Myntra’s mobile app. Sharma pushes Kohli around in a shopping cart and browsew Myntra’s app for a dress. In the next scene, she wears the dress as Kohli searches for a pair of sneakers. The advert concludes with the couple playing with the shopping cart again to highlight Myntra’s online-to-offline capabilities.

Kohli and Sharma have worked as brand ambassadors together for brands including Head and Shoulders and Manyavar. Kohli is a famous cricket player and Sharma is a Bollywood actress. This brand ambassador deal is a major marketing investment for Myntra and the campaign will be disseminated pan-India.
