Morel S.A. will design and distribute men's and women's luggage, travel bags and back packs under the Perry Ellis trademark in Central America, South America and the Caribbean regions. The collection set for a launch in Fall 2017, will be marketed and distributed by Morel in retail and upscale specialty stores in the three geographical regions.

"We are pleased to partner with Morel S.A. and believe this collaboration aligns with our strategic initiatives to expand the Perry Ellis brand in international markets," executive chairman of Perry Ellis International, George Feldenkreis said.

Perry Ellis is forging ahead and racking up more licenses this year, part of its overall turnaround strategy it began in 2014. In two years time, the company has exited over 30 brands, which accounted for $100 million in lower margin revenues while strategic partnerships and licenses have bolstered its revenue growth.

Perry Ellis got off to a strong start with licenses this year, signing a new license with Euroneck in early January for the design and distribution of men’s accessories for the Perry Ellis and John Hardy brands in Mexico. In 2016, the label was also pro-active in recruiting licensees, including Sheralven Enterprises Ltd. for women’s fragrance; bath and home fragrance products and accessories under the Laundry by Shelli Segal brand; a footwear license agreement with Doctorstick Korea for its namesake brand Perry Ellis; and a sock and hosiery agreement with Gina Group LLC.
