More Retail appoints Vinod Nambiar as managing director

Fast-moving consumer goods retailer More Retail has appointed Vinod Nambiar as its managing director. Nambiar will take over from Sumeet Narang.

 
Nambiar has been named as managing director of Samara Capital-Amazon-owned More Retail. He will work with a team that includes the business’ deputy managing director and CEO for hypermarkets, Mohit Kampani, and CEO for supermarkets, Sashi Gumma. 
 
Nambiar will take over from Narang, who is the founder and managing director at Samara Capital. Narang will leave his role as managing director at More Retail and will retain his role as chairman of the business.

“His strategic clarity coupled with a strong execution bias will drive exceptional results in the years to come,” added Narang. “Samara believes Vinod’s addition to More Retail leadership team will accelerate its journey towards becoming a truly customer obsessive firm with outstanding leadership at all levels.”
 
Nambiar has over 30 years experience working with FMCG businesses Hindustan Unilever India and Colgate.
