Moonray collaborates with Jai Vakeel Foundation on charitable collection
Moonray has partnered with the Jai Vakeel Foundation to launch a collection of art dolls named ‘Moonchildren’ on its e-commerce store and in its flagship store. The initiative is designed to promote inclusion and raise funds for the foundation.
Moonray’s new exclusive collection of art dolls, designed and made by brand co-founder Avantika Swali, aims to show differently abled characters in a way that highlights their talents.
The brand will donate the net proceeds from the collection to the Jai Vakeel Foundation which works to empower differently abled children.
“Deeply inspired by the the Jai Vakeel children, Avantika Swali felt a strong desire to amplify the message of inclusion,” Moonray announced on Facebook. “As a result, she began illustrating and creating narratives inspired by them, resulting in unique ‘Moonchildren’ that serve as a thoughtful reminder to spotlight abilities rather than disabilities. Their personalities were charming as ever, for instance: mario the dog is a chef, norah the cat is a tap dancer, Leo the bunny is a philosopher, Ray the dog is a hockey player, Cai the teddy is a magician, Max is a rapper, and Maya is a marine biologist.”
“Each time you gift a Moonchild to a loved one, you amplify the message of inclusivity,” announced Moonray. “Pledge to be a part of the movement and become an ambassador of inclusion.”
Moonray has donated a portion of its sales to charitable organisations since its inception. The brand was launched in December 2021 by Karishma Swali and her daughter Avantika and retails a wide range of clothing, accessories, jewellery, and footwear from its online store and recently opened flagship store in Mumbai.
