Monisha Jaising and Shweta Bachchan Nanda have launched a ready to wear label, MxS, that will make its official debut in September, and aims to banish age and size restrictions on clothing.

"The brand believes that to pigeonhole a woman is taking away from her right of expression,” Jaising told EIle India. “A woman should not be restricted by her age, and she should be given the opportunity to wear what appeals to her."

With this ideology, the brand’s clothing will range from XS to 3XL.

The clothing, inspired by streetwear, films, pop culture, and travel, mixes together Jaising and Bachchan Nanda’s personal styles. Leather miniskirts, slogan sweatshirts, and sequin trousers will all feature in MxS’s debut collection, which was inspired by the idea that all daughters borrow clothes from their mother’s wardrobes, and vice versa.

The collection is full of colour and texture including chainmail, bonded satin organza, metallic lamè, satin georgette, and metallic velvet.

The clothing will be priced between Rs 8,000 ($115) to Rs 70,000 and the brand describes itself as “luxury prêt”.

The debut MxS collection has been modelled by Shweta Bachchan Nanda and her daughter Navya Naveli Nanda, in a campaign photographed by Rohan Shrestha.
