Twenty-seven year old designer Kalra plans to expand her womenswear brand across India and internationally as she begins a new phase of expansion. Kalra is investing in offline expansion and is eyeing a twofold increase in revenue driven by an increased offline presence in India.

The brand is already available internationally in Singapore, Canada, and Dubai among other countries, according to the brand’s press release.

"Today, bridal wear has a vast spectrum, it not only includes those heavily embroidered lehengas and embellished sarees but it has a good mix of Rich Anarkalis with Ethnic Skirts, subtle yet rich Crop Tops with Lehengas paired with beautiful capes," said Kalra, according to the brand’s press release.

Kalra plans to pursue the bridal wear market to tap into this growth opportunity.

Mithi Kalra launched her eponymous brand in 2012 after graduating from the National Institute of Fashion Technology. Kalra draws her inspiration from diverse sources from Disney princesses to Madhubani Paintings from Bihar.
