Jewellery brand Misho has collaborated with coffee brand Araku for a collaborative jewellery collection, which is inspired by the women who farm coffee beans in the Araku Valley and their own jewellery traditions.

The joint collection launched on April 20 on Misho’s e-commerce store, the brand announced on Instagram. The collection features sculptural pieces featuring gold coffee beans mixed with beadwork, which many of the women in the Araku Valley region wear themselves.

Misho founder Suhani Parekh learnt about the women’s local traditions and how they farm the coffee then used the jewellery they wore daily as a springboard from which to design the contemporary collection.

“We met the amazing women who work on the plantation and listened to their stories and heard their songs,” Parekh told Vogue India about how she found her inspiration for the collection.

“In Suhani's trajectory with Misho, I noticed parallels with Araku Coffee,” Araku’s chief brand advisor for retail and lifestyle Aditi Dugar told Vogue India.

“Much like Misho, Araku forms a cultural bridge between India and the world through our flagships in Paris and Bangalore. Women entrepreneurs like Suhani are pushing that dialogue, and it’s a matter of great pride for us. So we invited Suhani to seek inspiration in the story of how a tribal collective of farmers managed to put India on the global coffee map.”
