Michael Kors names actor Anushka Sharma as brand ambassador for India
Michael Kors has named actor Anushka Sharma as its new brand ambassador to endorse the watch vertical for women in the Indian market.
Sharma will feature in the brand’s upcoming campaigns across platforms promoting Michael Kors timepieces. With this association, the brand is banking on the actor’s pan-India popularity to drive sales of its watch vertical in India.
Commenting on the association, Johnson Verghese, managing director for Fossil India in a statement said, “We are delighted to be partnering with Anushka Sharma to be the face of Michael Kors timepieces in India. Anushka has been a trailblazer throughout her career as much for her on-screen performances as her style aesthetic, she exemplifies the values of individuality and excellence that we pride ourselves in.”
Anushka Sharma added, “I have long admired the standout nature and unique designs of Michael Kors watches, and I am happy to be working with them as an ambassador. I believe the Michael Kors brand mirrors many of my principles, and their innovative creations are an authentic expression of individuality. Michael Kors retails from around seven exclusive brand stores in India as well as through multi-brand retailers both online and offline in India. The brand opened its first brick-and-mortar store in India in 2013 in New Delhi.
