MEXICO CITY, Aug 12 (Reuters) - Mexican retailers group ANTAD said on Wednesday 12 August its members' same-store sales were unchanged in July compared with the same month a year ago, supporting the view that a deep recession may almost be over.

Battered by slumping U.S. demand, Mexico's economy is struggling through a deep recession and is seen shrinking around 7 percent this year.

But some analysts say the economy may be hitting bottom and that growth could resume over the next few months.

ANTAD groups leading supermarket chains like Wal-Mart de Mexico (WALMEXV.MX), Soriana (SORIANAB.MX) and Comercial Mexicana (COMEUBC.MX), as well as department and specialty stores.

Supermarkets reported a 1.1 percent increase in same-store sales in July.

In June, same stores sales, or those recorded at outlets that have been open for at least 12 months, dropped 3.5 percent, year over year.
