Metro Brands opens first FitFlop store in India

Footwear retail chain Metro Brands Limited has opened the first exclusive store of UK-based footwear brand Fitflop in the Indian market in the city of Chennai.

Earlier this year, Metro Brands had signed a strategic partnership Fitflop to exclusively retail and distribute the brand in India across various platforms and channels.

Commenting on the launch, Nissan Joseph, CEO of Metro Brands Limited in a statement said, “We are delighted to exclusively tie up with Fitflop and look forward to channeling our pan-India network and expertise to grow the brand and unlock its potential. The fact that the brand synergies of both Fitflop and Metro are aligned will make this journey more exciting for the consumers who will experience some of the world’s best biomechanically engineered, comfortable, and stylish footwear.”

FitFlop was launched in 2007 by Canadian entrepreneur Marcia Kilgore and is currently available in around 65 countries. In India, it is available across 130 plus multi-brand outlets, including 110 Metro and Mochi stores as well as online portals and on Myntra.
