Méro launches debut collection 'Plush' and New Delhi boutique

Womenswear brand Méro has launched its maiden collection titled 'Plush' and, currently retailing from its new store in South Delhi, has international aspirations for the future.

Méro has launched its first-ever collection in New Delhi, co-founder and designer, Roselyn Kochar, told FashionNetwork.com. Together, Kochar and fellow co-founder and designer, Mehar Juneja, recently launched an exclusive brand outlet in Jaunapur, South Delhi, to house the collection, after beginning production for the new fashion brand in July this year.

Plush, a collection for autumn/winter 2019, is inspired by power dressing, 1970s aesthetics, and glamour. Using textiles including velvet, suede, tweeds, and denims, the collection mixes occasion wear with more casual options and silver hues show the designers’ love for disco. Notable items include bright mini dresses and dresses with statement ruffle sleeves.

“We are optimists, we aspire to reach higher and higher, challenging our capabilities,” Kochar told FashionNetwork.com, about future plans for the recently launched brand.

“We like to challenge ourselves for the greatest creativities. We aim to be reaching the right places at our own right time when it comes to fashion, which would be the streets of Paris, London and Milan.”

In school, cousins Kochar and Juneja studied humanities and commerce, respectively. Both studied design at university and joined forces to launch their first womenswear brand. 'Méro' is an amalgamation of the names 'Mehar' and 'Roselyn'.
