Mensa Brands acquired Pebble for an undisclosed sum, Indo-Asian News Service reported. The business aims to expand Pebble online and tap into the growing consumer adoption of domestic wearables brands.

“In the fastest-growing smart wearables segment, we believe Pebble stands apart as it perfectly combines fashion with cutting-edge technology,” said Mensa Brands’ founder and CEO Ananth Narayanan, who was previously CEO at Myntra, ET Bureau reported.

“Being part of Mensa Brands will help strengthen our position in the wearables market and open up new opportunities for us to leverage,” said Pebble’s co-founder Komal Agarwal. Pebble retails a range of fitness themed wearables, audio products, charging products, and accessories among others and distributes them offline across the country.

Mensa Brands has a portfolio of over 20 brands in categories including fashion, cosmetics, and lifestyle among others. The business reported Rs 1,500 crore in net revenue in its first year of business and currently has around 700 employees in Bengaluru. The business plans to hire a further 700 employees this year.
