On May 3, Sharma showcased a collection named 'Shakti' on the runway for her MDIS graduate show in Queenstown, Singapore. Sharma travelled to India to research the collection and decided to create modest wear that seeks to empower women.

“My collection draws inspiration from women who have lived valiantly in a society where they are harshly critiqued,” Sharma told Connected to India about her collection. “The design emphasises on creating a feminine yet powerful silhouette that celebrates the liberation of women.”

Shakti featured a colour palette of red, orange, and peach and mixed bold stripes with modest yet theatrical silhouettes. The collection aimed to represent the divine feminine energy in Hinduism and gold details and saree-esque drapes served to emphasise this.

The MDIS fashion show featured nine other graduate designers including Phan My Linh, Amanda Ng Pei Shi, and Eugene Choo. The designers were graduates from MDIS’s fashion design programme.
