MCM: Eric Erhardt returns to take charge of EMEA
MCM (Modern Creation München) continues to grow, and has powered up its management team. The Munich-born luxury accessories label acquired by Korean businesswoman Sung-Joo Kim in 2005 has appointed Eric Erhardt as President of the EMEA region, stating in a press release that "the manager will take full charge of the European and Middle Eastern markets."
Eric Erhardt is tasked with expanding the brand's presence in the area, focusing on organisation, marketing, sales and merchandising.
This is a return for Eric Erhardt at MCM, where he worked as Commercial Director between 2006 and 2010, before joining German label Talbot Runhof. Until early 2017, Erhardt was the CEO of the Munich-based women's ready-to-wear label specialised in evening dresses, founded by American designer Johnny Talbot and his German counterpart Adrian Runhof.
Eric Erhardt was also formerly in charge of the wholesale channel for Saint Laurent in Europe.
MCM is well-established in Asia and especially South Korea, where it is highly appreciated by a young, directional clientele. In the last three years the brand has turned its attention to the European and US markets, and last December it opened a first flagship store in London.
MCM's headquarters are located in Zurich, Switzerland, and the brand is currently distributed via 400 multibrand stores and 130 directly owned ones. Its 2016 revenue was €560 million.
