McDonald's debuts McDelivery fashion collection

Published

McDonald’s is not often associated with the word ‘chic,’ but the fast food chain aims to earn that descriptor with its new McDelivery fashion collection, made in partnership with UberEats.

The McDelivery collection

The world-famous restaurant on Thursday debuted a capsule collection that is comprised of hoodies and sweatshirts featuring the Big Mac, French fries and additional sandwiches, a Big Mac printed pillowcase, a picnic blanket featuring various McDonald’s items and matching black hoodies, sweatshirts, and slides with the phrase “World Famous."

The Illinois-based company has seen their signature menu items and logo reworked in designer collections. Moschino referenced the McDonald’s logo and classic uniforms for its fall 2014 collection, the fast food chain also partnered with Colette on a collection, and the company tapped designer Waraire Boswell and Bindu Rivas to redesign its uniforms.

In 2015, McDonald’s launched its online store, the Big Mac Shop, that sold Big Mac patterned thermals, raincoats, bed linen, and even wallpaper, and in the same year challenged fashion students at the Miami International University of Art and Design to create collections from McDonald’s food packaging for a chance to win a $5,000 scholarship. The McDCouture show featured ensembles made out of McFlurry cups, French fries and sandwich boxes, and straws.

The fast food chain and the university held the McDCouture competition again this month for Miami Swim Week and named Pablo Machado Palomeque the recipient of the scholarship.

McDonald’s latest fashion venture, the McDelivery collection, will be available in select global cities, beginning on July 26, for customers that order via UberEats.
