The collection was inspired by Iceland’s volcanic mountains and black sand beaches.

The collection is made of leather created from the byproducts of salmon and wolf fish processing units in Ireland. The fish-skin leather is transported to India where it is coloured with natural dyes and handcrafted into bags and accessories. Because fish skin has no hair, unlike animal skins, it does not need to be tanned and dyed with chemicals that release environmentally harmful toxins such as hydrogen sulphide.

Mayu was founded by Mayura Davda as a sustainable leather handbag and accessories brand. The new brand reached an international audience at the Hungarian trade show and aims to create a global retail presence.
