Max Fashion launches on Amazon this August in push to become billion dollar brand

The value fashion brand Max Fashion launches on Amazon on August 1 with over 5,000 products available through the multi-brand e-commerce portal. The online launch is part of Max Fashion’s plan to become a billion dollar business.

Max Fashion launches its autumn/ winter 2019 collection on Amazon India on Thursday in a push to reach more customers, especially those in locations where the brand does not have a physical presence. The expansion of the brand’s online business is part of its omni-channel growth strategy and is coupled with its plan to open one store every five days. Max Fashion aims to reach a brick-and mortar store count in India of 500 by 2022.

“We want to be India’s first billion-dollar brand by 2022 and will be more than halfway to achieving our goal with revenue of $600 million [Rs 3,991.7 crore] this fiscal,” Max Fashion’s CEO Shital Mehta told BusinessLine.

“We are set to achieve a milestone of selling 100 million units of apparel this fiscal. While we offer global trendy products at affordable prices, what Amazon brings to the table is reach across 100% pin codes, outstanding customer experience, trust and reliability. At our current growth rate and with our Amazon partnership, we should be a $1 billion brand in three years.”

Max Fashion has a network of around 300 brick-and-mortar stores across over 100 Indian cities. The Middle Eastern fashion business first entered India in 2006.
