To see in the beginning of the Year of the Pig according to the Chinese zodiac, Gupta created decorations for Yauatcha restaurants in Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. Gupta has created her own pig motif, re-imagined in her signature bright and whimsical style. The décor was unveiled on February 1 and will stay up until February 28 and is also accompanied by a specially curated menu for the occasion.

Gupta was inspired by the symbolic meaning of the pig for her installation -- as a symbol of reflection, restoration, and renewal. The centrepiece of the installation is a life-size pig, bright red and in Gupta’s signature style. Chinese lanterns with printed pigs on also light up the bar and Gupta also created a themed window display for each restaurant.

“Decorating the restaurants is important; it has become part of our annual celebrations and is loved by our guests,” KA Hospitality’s executive director, Karyna Bajaj, said in a statement. “We like the idea of celebrating in a way that is fun and charismatic, yet surprising, like the Yauatcha brand.”

This is the second designer collaboration for Yauatcha and one of many for Gupta who has collaborated with brands ranging from Himalayan Pure Orchard water to Titan to Clinique among many others.
