Cinema icon, legendary model and iconic beauty, Marisa Berenson has a lesser known metier -  beauty brand. And this week, the elegant and brainy Berenson launched her selection of Natural Luxury Cosmetics in famed Paris emporium – Colette.

Starting in 2015, Berenson has used bio-technology to develop the line testing it on several thousand people, in selected spas worldwide, before unveiling her collection. Her key component? Oil produced from Barbary Coast figs, noted for their anti-aging virtues, and obtained by a first cold press of its seeds.

“The prickly pear cactus that lives in exceptionally extreme weather conditions… is blessed with a fabulous potential of resistance and exceptional powers of protection,” says Berenson of the Barbary fig oil.

The line’s selection includes Luminous Water, Eye Contour and a Red Clay Mask, featuring the fig oil. The range varies in price from 75 euros to 145 euros, and is available in exclusivity in Paris this spring at Colette second floor Beauty Box.

“Beauty is inside out,” adds Berenson, who wrote a page in cinema history as the ineffably gorgeous countess in Stanley Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon, one of the most beautiful films ever made.

At the height of her modelling career, Saint Laurent once dubbed Berenson “The girl of the Seventies.” The granddaughter of couturier Elsa Schiaparelli, the green-eyed Berenson has also appeared in Luchino Visconti’s Death in Venice and in Bob Fosse’s Cabaret.
