Fast-moving consumer goods and personal care brand Marico has launched a new hybrid model for its employees which enables them to increase flexibility and respond to modern worker needs while still focusing on growth.

Beginning in October, Marico has launched a ‘Ways of Work’ design-based model to enable its employees to mix working from home with scheduled and focused trips to the office, the business announced in a statement, ET Bureau reported. The change in its work model is designed to enable workers to balance their professional commitments with family needs and enable the business to run effectively, according to Marico.

“As the world moves away from the clutches of the pandemic, global organisations are recalibrating their strategies to prepare for a post-remote work future of the workplace, with a shift towards the hybrid model of working,” said Marico’s CHRO Amit Prakash, TNN reported.

“In sync with cultural and technological paradigm shift, Marico’s decision to become a hybrid workplace aims to appeal to the sensibilities and preferences of the new-age professionals while delivering on the business needs. With this development, we will be equipped to not only attract talent from across geographies but also mitigate attrition by retaining members who choose to leave due to locational constraints.”

The pandemic and subsequent lockdowns saw many employees work from home for months on end. Following this, not only did many workers ask for a continuation of work-from-home to some degree but businesses also saw the benefits of such a model. Marico is joe formalising this system for its employees as it is likely other businesses will follow suit.
