Marico Ltd launches sanitisers under Mediker brand

FMCG major Marico Ltd has become the latest entrant in the hand sanitiser segment as it announced its foray into the category, with the launch of Mediker sanitiser.
 

With the production of non-essential commodities being suspended in the country due to the lockdown imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19, most FMCG companies have entered this segment to meet the shortage of sanitisers in the country.
 
Earlier, companies like Bajaj Consumer Care, Emami, ITC, and Godrej, among many others had entered the segment and also ramping up production to meet the market demand.

Commenting on the launch, Koshy George, chief marketing officer at Marico in a statement said: “With Mediker sanitisers, we are entering into one of the most critical categories in the country today. It is one of our quickest launches, brought to the forefront in record-time, to address the surging consumer demand given the current pandemic. As a responsible corporate, we are committed to serve our consumers to the best of our abilities with products which are essential to them.”
 
Marico plans to donate a part of the production of the sanitisers to government and medical agencies to help them fight this global pandemic.

The Mediker sanitiser range will be available across medical stores, kiranas, modern retail outlets and e-commerce platforms across India.
