Margherita Missoni receives the America Award

Margherita Maccapani Missoni (31 years old) has received the America Award, an award instituted by the Italy-USA Foundation, an independent body honouring the friendship between Italy and the United States, to reward leading figures who stand out by their work and their success in transatlantic relations.

This year, the Italy-USA Foundation has bestowed the award upon Margherita Maccapani Missoni "for her activities as a brand ambassador of the family-run label and for the relationship she has built with the USA," Missoni announced in a press release.

Grand-daughter of Rosita and Ottavio Missoni, founders of the eponymous Italian brand, Margherita is the eldest daughter of Angela Missoni, the brand's current creative director, from her first marriage with Marco Maccapani.

The ceremony took place at the Chamber of Deputies of Rome, on 9 October.
