“On my visit to Turkey in 2017, we identified Turkey’s sourcing strength within the fashion and lifestyle domain and quickly established a sourcing office and a dedicated team of buyers-merchandisers,” said Marcowagon’s founder and CEO Zenil Shah, the Economic Times reported. “For four years, we have hosted more than 20 Turkish brands in India and Middle East, we also source for established private labels including Ajio, Nykaa, Trends, Noon, Namshi, Landmark, and more via a cross-dock integration.”

The business currently brings in over one million SKUs for customers in India and its trade volume is valued at over $20 million per year, according to Marcowagon. Brands which Marcowagon brings from Turkey to India includes e-commerce fashion giant Trendyol among others, according to the business’ website.

Marcowagon recently launched Turkish clothing brand Grimelange exclusively on multi-brand e-commerce platform Ajio, the brand announced in a news post on its website. Grimelange targets a Gen Z audience and specialises in casual, oversized men’s and womenswear.

In order to capitalise on its network in Turkey, Marcowagon plans to expand its product categories into areas where Turkey has abundant inventory. These include cosmetics, a fast growing product category in India, and homeware, according to Shah.
