Manoviraj Khosla, Paresh Lamba, and Pawan Sachdeva dress the modern Indian man at LMIFW
Three menswear designers, Manoviraj Khosla, Paresh Lamba Signatures, and Pawan Sachdeva, presented their spring/ summer 2020 collections on the runway at Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week in a joint showcase on Saturday.
On day four of LMIFW, three Indian menswear designers showcased their collections and their own, modern takes on masculine dressing. Designer Manoviraj Khosla’s collection was youthful and added some fusion wear elements to a mainly western wear aesthetic. Rock 'n' roll elements like spike studs, leopard print, chunky silver zips, and metallics, gave the collection edge and more casual pieces like knee-length shorts, tailored jeans, and black trousers kept the aesthetic highly wearable.
Paresh Lamba’s spring/ summer 2020 collection featured 1980s-esque primary colours, often striped across a white background, in colour blocked suits, and in painterly designs. Boxy shirts, suits, and trousers mixed with more experimental cuts and the “smart shorts” also made an appearance in Lamba’s collection.
Pawan Sachdeva’s collection used neutral, natural hues, greys, and blacks featuring subtle, textured prints to create a sort of urban camouflage. Utilitarian silhouettes with multiple pockets and military-inspired jumpsuits mixed with more formal elements like tie-belt blazers and matching coat and trouser sets.
Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week began on October 9 and ran until October 13 at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium at India Gate in New Delhi. The biannual event is organised by the Fashion Design Council of India, this season in association with EbixCash, and the theme for this season was “My Fashion My Tribe”.
