Manish Malhotra looks to Gen Z with new line 'Diffuse'

Designer Manish Malhotra is focusing on engaging younger shoppers with his new line ‘Diffuse’, which now retails with a lower price point and includes bold  fusion style designs designed to be mixed and matched.

Manish Malhotra, a designer known for his opulent traditional wear, has unveiled a future-forward collection of seasonless separates for new line ‘Diffuse’, the brand announced on Instagram. The line sees Malhotra reinterpret his take on glamour for a more experimental and playful Gen Z audience and also taps into the trend for more seasonless dressing. 
 
“The youth, always intrigued, inspired and stimulated me through the vibrancy and the ever-changing mysteries of life,” Malhotra told Vogue India about his inspirations behind the new line. “Their outlook on life is so fascinating. I wanted to create a separate line resonating with their eclectic nature.”

Diffuse features baggy trousers, abstract digital printed lehengas, fusion style kurtas, and layered looks. One of Malhotra’s muses for the line was celebrity and activist Jameela Jamil who the designer chose for her “powerful and youthful vibe,” said Malhotra. 
 
“Diffuse came with a lot of planning, research, and, most importantly, a shift in the entire team's mindset working on it,” said Malhotra. “The clothes are more accessible, considering we consciously priced them for the younger generation to avail.”
