Manish Malhotra launches skincare line
Designer and couturier Manish Malhotra has stepped into skincare in partnership with beauty business MyGlamm for a line of products which are made in India and use natural ingredients.
After launching a makeup line in 2018, Malhotra has further expanded into the beauty sphere with his new skincare line. The range features products including an’Haldi Eye Gel’ and the ‘Tulsi Cleansing Foaming Gel’, inspired by traditional Indian beauty treatments and the popular ‘clean beauty’ movement which the pandemic has only added to.
“Makeup and skincare go hand in hand,” Malhotra told Vogue India about how the launch adds to his current product selection. “I wanted my consumers to have a trusted and reliable skincare range made with products that bring a sense of familiarity. Having healthy skin is essential especially if you like applying makeup on a daily basis.”
The line also supports the ongoing government campaign ‘Vocal for Local’ which aims to boost domestic production. “Since the range is inspired and made in India (many key ingredients are from local farms in Himachal Pradesh), it supports the nationwide call for #VocalforLocal,” said Malhotra.
Planning to continue to expand the line, Malhotra sees waterless products as the feature of eco-friendly beauty. “Consumers prefer a brand which understands how important it is to follow a direction that doesn't have a negative impact on the environment,” said Malhotra. “Waterless products with less wasteful packaging are also an exciting innovation in the beauty industry.”
