Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal of the Ambani and Piramal business families had their official wedding ceremony on December 12 at the Ambani residence in Mumbai. Prior to this, the couple held a sangeet ceremony in Udaipur where Manish Malhotra created a set of five ensembles for five guests each in a different hue.

For Karisma Kapoor, Malhotra created a glittering light pink Chikankari lehenga from his Mijwan collection. For Jacqueline Fernandez, Malhotra designed an ivory lehenga with antique and dull gold artwork and for Kiara Advani he designed a black and oxidised silver set with a constructed corset. For Janhvi Kapoor Malhotra created a solid gold lehenga with fuchsia dupatta and for Khushi Kapoor he created an ivory lehenga with a gold harlequin print.

At the sangeet, Beyoncé wore a custom gold and glittery creation by Falguni Shane Peacock as she performed for guests. The singer has long favoured the Indian design house. Other notable guests included former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

Dolce & Gabbana created the wedding invitations which were large gift boxes filled with ornaments that included jewellery. Videos of the invitation boxes went viral on social media. The wedding has been billed as India’s most expensive ever. According to the Press Trust of India, the wedding will cost over $10 million (Rs 72 crore).
