Long-time champion of Indian handloom textiles Manish Malhotra spoke about the importance of preserving Indian culture and promoting it on a global platform at his 'Adventures of Fashion' talk in Chennai on Sunday.

The designer spoke at the event organised by the non-profit Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry’s women's group FLO to an audience of industry professionals and members of the group. The talk was moderated by former Miss India International Shvetha Jaishankar.

Malhotra called Indian actresses to wear sarees when they walk the red carpet at international events. He also explained how he has worked to promote Kanjeepuram sarees through his eponymous brand.

Manish Malhotra will soon launch a web-series he has produced on fashion and also hopes to get into directing in the future.

“I am not scared of failures,” Malhotra told The New Indian Express about the venture. “Even if something doesn’t work I don’t give up.”

The designer is also gearing up to launch a new brand Label M, although details about the upcoming line are yet to be released.

Malhotra recently hosted a large-scale photo session at his Mumbai flagship store to launch 'Ballad of Luxury'.

On June 8, photographer Victoria Rundysheva photographed models in-store in Malhotra’s latest collections working with hair-stylist Daksh and featuring jewellery by Amrapali. The designer has released the collaborative project’s photos on his social media.
