Bollywood’s favourite designer sounded excited to be closing the ICW show for the fourth time and revealed his plans of launching India’s largest standalone designer store at Mehrauli in New Delhi.

“I have been a part of India Couture Week for 8 years now. I am excited about my upcoming show as it's the fourth time I will be doing a closing show for the platform. The showcase at India Couture Week will be a stellar experience that is befitting these milestones and will present Manish Malhotra Label's new design direction through the lens of Couture,” Manish Malhotra said in a statement.

The Manish Malhotra label will complete 12 years in the fashion industry and as part of the celebrations the designer is planning robust expansion plan across India starting with a large store in Delhi.

“The end of this year will see our Delhi Flagship store space growing to almost 15,000 sq ft to become the largest standalone Indian designer store”, Malhotra added.

Commenting on Manish Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, “Manish Malhotra is an ideal choice as he brings with him not just a wealth of experience, but also the innate ability to dazzle and an understanding of crafts intermingled with a celebratory appeal.”

Veteran designers Rohit Bal and Anamika Khanna will kickstart the India Couture Week on July 24.
