Manish Arora opens Kornit Fashion Week in London

On May 15, designer Manish Arora opened Kornit Fashion Week at Freemasons' Hall in London, UK with a vibrant virtual reality and physical runway show designed to show how digital production can transform fashion.

Guests first viewed a virtual reality presentation showing Arora’s creative process before models walked the runway at the venue to showcase the results of Arora and Kornit Digital’s collaboration. Arora’s kaleidoscopic designs were produced on-demand and sustainably with Kornit technology, on-demand digital fashionx and textile production business Kornit Digital announced in a press release. 
 
The runway show was designed to showcase the, “power of digital production to transform an industry transitioning from the challenges of waste and overproduction to sustainable, efficient production,” according to Kornit Digital. Arora presented his classic multicoloured mixed prints embellished with sequins and animal imagery on dresses, jumpsuits, and layered sets.

“Attendees who experience Manish Arora’s virtual reality presentation drawing a direct route from his imagination to runway collection at our opening night gala will understand how we’re transforming what fashionX can and will be,” said Kornit Digital CEO Ronen Samuel in a press release. “Kornit is enabling the connection between the virtual world and brilliant, finished apparel, unleashing creativity in new and fascinating ways. This program offers a glimpse into a completely new experience, from the moment of inspiration to the moment a cherished garment arrives, satisfying and invigorating every creator, brand, producer, and consumer throughout the fashion value chain.”

Kornit Fashion Week will showcase collections by an array of designers as well as a home décor collection by Preen by Thornton Bregazzi titled ‘Breakfast in Bed’. The event also features keynote and panel sessions by industry names on current topics.
