Mango is bolstering its senior team with the appointment of Diego Sebastián as director of customer experience and retail innovation. The former Apple and Hawkers executive will join the Spanish fashion company this week.

Diego Sebastián will report to Elena Carasso, online and customer director at Mango, and lead the development and implementation of new initiatives across the store estate, as well as further projects linked to improving the customer experience, the brand announced in a statement.

“He will be  charge of orchestrating an ecosystem of omnichannel innovation in line with the brand's global identity and vision, driving new store concepts and services that allow the company to improve the customer experience and loyalty,” said Mango.

A graduate from Oxford University and Imperial College London, and with a professional programme from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Sebastián has a wealth of experience in the retail sector. He was director of innovation for Apple Retail in Cupertino, California for more than six years and served as director of innovation and retail at Hawkers until December.

His appointment is part of Mango’s efforts to strengthen its executive team. In recent months, the company has named Josep Barberà as new finance director, José Ignacio Ejido as project manager overseeing the firm’s supply chain operations and Sergio Márquez as project manager of supply chain.
