The Hyderabad-based saree brand Mandir opened its second store in the city and has expanded its array of traditional wear.

Mandir now has two flagship stores in Hyderabad - Mandir- Facebook

The traditional wear brand Mandir opened its second store in Hyderabad, located in Jubilee Hills, at the end of last year. The brand’s inaugural store, in the city’s Banjara Hills area, has been running for several years but has also recently been updated with new product lines and décor.

The brand, which calls itself “the wedding specialist” mainly retails sarees but also features kurtas, jackets, lehengas, blouses, and accessories. The saree selection is expansive and includes daywear sarees in linen as well as opulent pieces intended for formal wear and weddings. Patan patolas, pure kanchivarams, uppadas, handmade paitnis, and gadwalls all feature in store alongside more minimalist offerings.

The brand’s latest, festive collection also launched in store and includes rich hued sarees from heavy textiles designed for the winter season. The store also caters to trousseau purchases and customisation for weddings.

Mandir falls in the mid-section of the market alongside other traditional were retailers such as Biba. Traditional wear is currently enjoying a renaissance in the Indian fashion industry in all sections of the market and Mandir is one of the many brands that are both profiting from this and leading to the organisation of the traditional wear market.
