Entrepreneur Deepica Mutyala’s cosmetics brand Live Tinted has collaborated with Mattel’s Barbie Style to launch the first Indian ‘CEO Barbie’ doll. The brand has also created a collaborative hue stick.

Makeup artist and brand founder Deepica Mutyala has been immortalised as a Mattel Barbie. The doll is the first Indian origin doll in Barbie’s CEO series and wears a red power suit paired with traditional South Asian jewellery.
“Her skin is tinted, her eyes big, and brows bold,” Mutyala told Vogue India about the doll. “She wears her jhumkas and bangles proud with her power suit. She is ready to take on the world. Her identity is hers.”
Although the doll itself is not for sale, the brands launched a limited edition ‘hue stick’ to retail to mark the occasion. Designed to be worn on lips or cheeks, the deep red hue stick echos the makeup worn by the doll.
“It’s a dream come true to be collaborating with Barbie,” Mutyala told Happi. “Our sole mission as a brand at Live Tinted is to dismantle colourism in the beauty industry and to emphasise that representation matters. To be able to show young, tinted girls everywhere that there is a place for them in this world through such an iconic and prominent figure such as Barbie is something I know younger Deepica would be extremely proud of.”
Live Tinted specialises in makeup for coloured skin and retails a wide range of shades for its various face makeup products. The brand, which retails from its dedicated e-commerce store, has now made the collaborative Hue Stick available for international shipping, it announced on Instagram.
