Makeup artist Namrata Soni launches Simply Nam
Makeup artist Namrata Soni has launched a makeup line named ‘Simply Nam’ with a dedicated e-commerce store and presence in multi-brand beauty retailer Sephora.
“I have been in this industry for almost 20 years, and for the last five years I've been wanting to start my own brand,” Soni told Vogue India about the launch. Soni’s first product for Simply Nam is a makeup remover towel made from an antibacterial microfibre material designed to be sustainable and kind to skin.
“I wanted to start by building the perfect makeup remover,” said Soni. “As an artist, making sure that my client's skin is fresh and healthy before and after the makeup session is the most important. I wanted to create something sustainable and eco-friendly.”
Soni plans to continue to focus on sustainability as she develops her brand.
“Over 11 billion disposable makeup wipes and 1.8 billion cotton pads are thrown away each year, whereas one Simply Nam Makeup Remover Towel replaces more than 1,000 disposable makeup wipes,” Soni said.
Soni plans to continue to expand the brand’s product selection with a focus on cosmetics and personal care items suited to the Indian climate and its diverse skin types. Simply Nam first launched online with Sephora on December 19 in-store and online, the retailer announced on Facebook.
