Madame opens new store in Gurugram, plans franchise business
Womenswear brand Madame has opened a new store in Gurugram’s Reach Airia Mall and the brand plans to focus on building franchises across India in its next phase of expansion.
Madame opened another store in Gurugram last week, where it is headquartered, the brand announced on Facebook. The exclusive brand outlet retails Madame’s entire selection of women’s western wear and accessories including handbags, footwear, sunglasses, jewellery, and accessories.
The store launched with Madame’s spring/summer 2020 collection, which features bright red and coral hues as well as denim and neutrals. The space is bright with a simple, modern design and a dedicated space to the brand’s new line of graphic tees.
Madame also launched a store in Sirsa in the area’s NH-9 Factory Outlet at the end of February. Earlier last month, the brand opened its doors at Abohar in Punjab.
Madame plans to continue expansion by focusing on the franchise route.
“Our focus will be on outsourcing much of our fashion line, though our own factories will be used for making apparel for our forthcoming seasons’ lines,” the brand’s parent company, Jain Amar, via its director Akhil Jain, told Your Story. “Growth of our own online store will also be a strong focus over the next two years.”
The brand sells around 11 lakh garments per year through its exclusive brand outlets alone and also retails online on e-commerce platforms including Myntra and Amazon India. Last year, the brand reported a revenue total of Rs 320 crore ($43.32 million).
Entrepreneur CL Duggar Jain launched Madame in 1993 as a western wear brand under parent company Jain Amar. The brand manufactures its clothing in Ludhiana and currently has over 150 exclusive brand outlets across the country, as well as a presence in 600 multi-brand stores.
