Macnok expands into accessories, decor, wellness, widens retail network

Ethical handicraft business House of Macnok has opened in two outlets to retail its handcrafted accessories and plans to open more in Arunachal Pradesh, also adding new product lines for home and wellness.

Macnok is swiftly expanding its retail network and product selection, the New Indian Express reported. The brand recently launched in multi-brand boutique Miao in Arunachal Pradesh, the brand announced on Facebook. Macnok plans to continue to expand its distribution network in multi-brand stores and online.  
 
The brand recently launched three new product lines: Accessories by Macnok, Decor by Macnok, and Wellness by Macnok. Products which the brand has launched across its new lines include reusable sanitary pads, wild forest honey, soy wax scented candles, handmade soaps, crochet dolls, coasters, dreamcatchers, jewellery, and other handloom products.

“Every member in the SHGs earns from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 a month,” Lego told the New Indian Express about the employment opportunities the brand is providing. “Earlier, they did not have a market. It feels great that over 100 people earn a living through engagement with House of Macnok.”
 
Entrepreneur Ninna Lego launched Macnok in 2017 in her home in Pasighat in the East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. The name Macnok means ‘make and knock it out’, according to Lego. After expanding from a one-person operation, the brand is now supporting more than 10 self-help groups across the state and plans to continue to bring more artisans into its network to celebrate and promote North East Indian handicrafts and artisan skills.
