MacDougal plans to expand from face masks into apparel - MacDougal

MacDougal has achieved its growth target of 60% each month, and plans to expand both its distribution network and product categories, the brand announced in a press release. Designer and entrepreneur, Namisha Raj, launched the brand in May this year, with an online store featuring 62 SKUs.

“Our aim is to establish an artistic apparel label that is global and modern in its spirit and Louvre in its appeal, such that a commune of mutual understanding through art and fashion is achieved,” said Raj in a press release.

“We believe in sustainability and caring for our environment. Disposable masks have put the planet at a huge risk of non-biodegradable waste that is piling up. We need to focus on better avenues of masks and reusable fabric mask is a brilliant choice.”

Raj plans to continue to expand MacDougal’s online presence in India, before expanding into the U.S. and Western Europe. The brand also has 18 upcoming apparel-related products it will launch for a ‘Limited-Edition Collection’. The garments are made by a female workforce using sustainable production methods, according to the brand’s press release.

At present, online revenue contributes 40% towards the brand’s revenue total. As well as on its dedicated e-commerce store, MacDougal also retails through Amazon, Flipkart, and local retailers in Delhi, Srinagar, Leh, and Mumbai.
