Invista has new Lycra fabric technologies on the way. The American company at Interfilière New York on Thursday will unveil its new Lycra Moves Athleisure platform and capsule collection.

The new platform is a one-stop shop for athleisure solutions that allows mills and brands to easily enter the market and expand their business. The fiber technology capsule collection is comprised of 6 fabrics— Cooling, Black, W, Soft Comfort, Sport and T400—that deliver performance benefits like moisture management, comfort and fit.

Each fabric has special characteristics like Cooling’s moisture management system that keeps the wearer cool, dry and comfortable, Soft Comfort’s flexibility for fitting in-between sizes and comfortable compression, and T400’s durable stretch and recovery.

"The LYCRA® brand is a business connector in the apparel industry, and we offer the most robust insights, solutions, and contacts in the market," said Pattie Ficorilli, Sr. Marketing Manager Intimates. "We have the skills and knowledge to provide buyers and brands with the solutions they need to capture their share of the expansive athleisure market."

Athleisure has grown beyond a trend and into a bigger movement that emphasizes comfort, fit and functionality. According to The NPD Group, the sports bra market has grown from $0.8 billion to $1.5 billion in sales over the last five years. Morgan Stanley reports that the $270 billion sports apparel and footwear segment has grown 42% over the last seven years and is projected to grow another 30% by 2020.

In addition to Lycra, Invista is also behind the Coolmax, Cordura, Stainmaster and Antron brands.
