Lush leathers and psychedelic prints at Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2015

Tomas Maier's latest collection was designed to lift the spirits going into Fall-Winter, with transitional fabrics perfect for the shifting weather.

As usual there was plenty of focus at Bottega Veneta on the accessories, which included intrecciato and python bags ranging from city to shoulder sizes. Like the rest of the collection, they were paired ton-sur-ton with the double-breasted outerwear, duffle coats in calfskin, and the chunky cashmere knits and sweaters worn by this season's Bottega woman.

Those knits were joined with heritage fabrics like herringbone, gingham tweeds in green and rust brown, and sporty satin tailoring. The other focus was on a plethora of buttery leather dresses, tops, skirts and suiting. To break up the color-blocking effect, the solid palette pieces were darkened with spray paint. There were also some psychedelic 1970s-style prints, while pleats added some extra swing to a series of skirts. The footwear was also interesting: models wore retro-futuristic patent leather boots or more traditional block heel moccasins.
