Lulu Group to construct largest mall in India in Ahmedabad

Mall, real estate, and retail business Lulu Group International plans to construct the largest shopping mall in India yet in Ahmedabad. The business has earmarked an investment of Rs 3,000 crore for the project. 

Construction of the large scale shopping mall will begin in 2023, ET Bureau reported. The mall is set to house over 300 Indian and international brands spanning product categories including fashion, lifestyle, beauty, and more. 
 
“Discussions to acquire the land to construct this project are in the final stages and the foundation stone of this mega shopping mall will be laid early next year,” Lulu Group’s director of marketing and communications V Nandakumar told the Press Trust of India. 

The business’ planned Rs 3,000 crore investment follows on from a memorandum of understanding Lulu Group signed in Dubai with the Government of Gujarat. The Ahmedabad development will be the largest mall ever constructed in India in terms of size and facilities offered and Lulu Group’s multi-brand fast moving consumer goods store Lulu Hypermarket will be the anchor store. 
 
“Gujarat has developed a lot under the dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi ji, the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and our current Prime Minister and also under the wise leadership of current Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel,” said the business’ chairman and managing director, Yusuff Ali M A, the Press Trust of India reported. “Today, Gujarat is looked upon as a destination for its state-of-the-art facilities and its ease of doing business. I learnt the basics of business in Ahmedabad, Gujarat where my family members were doing business, Gujarat is very close to my heart.”
