Lulu Fashion Week was a five day event that launched at the Marriot in Kochi and ended last week. The event included an array of runway shows where brands showcased their latest spring/ summer 2018 collections and guests from across Kerala were present.

The Fashion Forum included over 200 fashion students from across the state and the theme this year was “Fashion in Tier 2 Cities”. Panellists included Celio’s Head of Sales and Operations, Manoj Bathija, Rai’s Director of Marketing and Communications, Dr Hitesh Bhatt, fashion bloggers, and actresses. The topic was especially current due to the rising number of fashion brands that are opening outlets in Tier 2 locations due to a rising fashion consciousness in more rural areas.

The Lulu Fashion Awards was a series of fashion awards judged by a public vote on the event’s website prior to the show. The awards ceremony has been running annually since 2015 and new categories have been added yearly. This year, the “most preferred menswear brand” was awarded to Celio, the “most preferred womenswear brand” to Van Heusen’s women’s department, and “most preferred kidswear brand” to Allen Solly Junior.
