The collaborative collection launched on both Lovebirds’ and Smokewear’s dedicated e-commerce stores this week, the brands announced on their respective Instagram pages. The capsule collection mixes Smokewear’s streetwear style with Lovebirds’ minimal, yet sharp tailoring.

The collection features a shirt, shorts, bucket hat, and tote bag; all made from cotton that was made by gathering scrap textiles from Lovebirds’ studio and then weaving them on a hand-loom to create a new textile, with help from Paiwand Studio.

“Reimagining and regeneration of the old into new is what defines this Lovebirds x Smokewear collection,” Lovebirds announced on its Instagram page, launching the collection with its first look, a loose, matching set. “

This checkered set is made of fabric developed from waste scrap fabric from our studio and then hand woven into this intricate, delicate and purely upcycled fabric.”

Lovebirds is based in New Delhi and is run by Gursi Singh and Amrita Khanna. The brand retails across India through multi-brand outlets, as well as in countries including Russia, Japan, and Italy, among others.

Smokewear launched as a collaboration between Varun Jain’s Smoke Vodka and Delhi-based Design label Khanijo. The brand retails gender-neutral, monochrome streetwear from its dedicated e-commerce store.
