Lotus Herbals Private Limited, which runs over six beauty brands and 15 sub-brands, plans to use its vast network to enable Conscious Chemist to expand its distribution network, the brand announced in a press release on January 20. Conscious Chemist will also add new product lines to its current natural skincare selection, which includes products for face, body, and eyes.

“We are excited about our strategic investment in Conscious Chemist since it aligns with our strategy for accelerating growth in the DTC digital native universe focused on clean beauty,” said Lotus Herbals’ joint managing director Nitin Passi in a press release.

“The brand also resonates with our commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly practices. We appreciate the vigour, exuberance and dynamism that Conscious Chemist brings and will provide them tangible access to Indian and global markets, technological and marketing mentorship that will help in propelling its growth over the next five years.”

“This investment from Lotus will help us fuel our commitment to launch category-creating innovative products, drive consumer behaviour change through education about performance-driven skincare solutions and expand our national and global footprint,” said Conscious Chemist’s co-founder and COO, Prakher Mathur.

Over the past 18 months, Lotus Herbals has made a number of investments in emerging Indian beauty brands to strengthen its position in the green beauty market. In September 2020, Lotus Herbals acquired a 100% stake in Soul Tree and in October 2021 the business acquired a 32% stake in Fix Derma India.
